Portadown Football Club can announce that Jack Scott has committed his future to the club by signing a new deal to remain at Shamrock Park.
Jack joined the club in January from Coleraine and went on to make 14 appearances, scoring on his debut against Annagh United in the Irish Cup.
Fresh from overseeing the Tandragee man ink his extension, David Jeffrey said
Following meeting Jack and his father this week, it was clear to me that Jack wants to remain at Portadown and both he and his father see Jack’s immediate future here at Shamrock Park.
I’ve great admiration for Jack as a player and as a person. We spoke about what is expected going forward, but what pleased me most is how much Jack wants to be part of our and the club’s plans going forward.
Also extending his stay at Portadown is Aaron Traynor, who has also penned a contract extension.
The experienced defender, who has had spells at Lisburn Distillery, Carrick Rangers, Coleraine and Cliftonville, arrived for a second stint at Shamrock Park in September 2023 after previously playing for the club between 2013 & 2014, and has made 57 appearances over his two spells in a red shirt. As well as being part of the first team squad, Aaron spent the second half of the season as part of the coaching team, firstly under Niall Currie and then stepping in alongside Gary Thompson for the final two games of the season.
On securing Aaron’s services for next season, Portadown manager, David Jeffrey MBE commented,
Aaron is a senior pro who has an impressive attitude and what struck me most is how much, like Jack, he wants to help the club move forward. He’s up for the fight in regard to competition for places and that’s something I love to see in my players.
