Portadown Football Club is delighted to announce the loan signing of Finn Flanagan, with the 21-year-old midfielder joining from Mansfield Town.

Standing at 6ft 1in, Flanagan arrives at Shamrock Park with valuable experience gained through the English football system and a number of loan spells at senior level.

Finn began his footballing journey in the academy at Derby County, joining at the age of 10, before making the move to Mansfield Town’s academy in January 2021.

His progress at Mansfield was rewarded with his first professional contract in May 2023, before he made his senior debut later that year. Flanagan came off the bench in a 3-2 League Two victory over Doncaster Rovers on 10 October 2023, and subsequently made a further appearance in the EFL Trophy.

The young midfielder has since gained considerable experience through a series of loan moves, spending time with Rushall Olympic and Redditch United before joining Mickleover in February 2025. He later moved to Rugby Town, where he remained until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Flanagan continued his development with further loan spells in the 2025/26 campaign, joining Matlock Town in November before moving to Quorn in January 2026.

On the arrival of Flanagan, PFC Head of Recruitment and Football Operations, David Douglas commented

Finn fits the profile that we have been searching for to compliment the midfielders we currently have at the club and will add competition in that area.

We wish to record our thanks to Mansfield Town for their cooperation in this deal.
