Portadown travelled to Millbridge with a much changed starting line up to take on Ballynahinch United. The Ports dominated from the off with possession and territory but where unable to put the finishing touch on their attacks and where punished when B’hinch broke up the field from a Ports corner and finished well passed Stewart. The Ports where still upping the pressure and had efforts from Salley, Bradley and Tipton but unable to find that finishing tough. The home side stretched their lead as a backpass slipped through Stewart and bobbled into the net, a night mare first half for the Ports.
The second half started the same as the second went, with Ports piling on the pressure but unable to apply the final ball or finishing touch but it finally came through McGrandles who rose highest to head home a pin point Tipton corner delivery. More pressure from Ports and chances fell to Latifi, Tipton & Trialist but it was the home side who got back their 2 goal advantage as they got on the end of a corner delivery and headed passed Stewart in the Portadown net. Ports where still pressing and Salley got on the end of a McKenna delivery to nod home but it was too late as the referee blew for full time on the restart.
Next up for Ports in the visit of Belper Town at Shamrock Park this Saturday, 3pm KO.
